Get Pain Relief with Electro-acupuncture Medicine
Summertime brings an increase in activities with the nicer weather, but also injuries from overdoing and overusing muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments. These include elbow, wrist, neck, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles and upper and lower back. An increase in activity may also exacerbate old injuries. The most effective treatment available for injuries and pain is electro-acupuncture.
Electro-acupuncture was developed in China nearly 75 years ago. This technique utilizes electrostimulation applied to two acupuncture needles located either at a site of injury or pain or away from the site of pain, depending on the treatment goals. A very mild current, felt as a gentle tapping sensation is applied for 20-30 minutes. This stimulates the release of Beta Endorphins in the brain. These chemicals are as powerful as morphine but completely naturally occurring. Subsequent treatments stimulate the release of more Beta Endorphins and they are cumulative in the body.
Severe pain and injury may require 2-3 treatments per week to start, while less pain will need 1-2 weekly treatments at the beginning and slowly taper off to 1 treatment per month, after pain has diminished. Complete absence of pain generally is experienced after 7-20 treatments depending on the severity and history of the injury. No surgery or drugs are needed during the healing process.
Electro stimulation is very effective for relief of acute as well as chronic pain. Along with pain relief comes a feeling of overall well-being due to the higher level of Beta Endorphins in the brain.
